The "presence of God" is kind of an enigma to me. What is it? Is it a substantial appearance of God that we existentially experience during musical worship? In other words, is it seeing and feeling God while singing worship songs? That is what I used to think. Bob Kauflin gives some good Biblical insight into the truth of God's presence. Here is an excerpt from his blog:

So as I'm standing in front of the church, leading them in songs, Scripture reading, and prayer, my goal is not to "lead them into God's presence," but to help them remember and celebrate what Christ has accomplished for them through his righteous life, atoning death, and glorious resurrection.
